This song may give away the answer, but you should come worship on Sunday anyway! I'm Gonna Rest in Jesus · Wesley Randolph Eader This song is a great prayer that should be on the lips of every saint who knows the kind of challenges found in church life and described in 1 Corinthians. MUSIC: Christopher Miner 1. Jesus, with Thy church abide; Be her savior, Lord, and Guide, While on earth her faith is tried: We beseech Thee, hear us, We beseech Thee, hear us. 2. Keep her life and doctrine pure; Grant her patience to endure, Trusting in Thy promise sure: We beseech Thee, hear us, We beseech Thee, hear us. 3. May she one in doctrine be, One in truth and charity, Winning all to faith in Thee: We beseech Thee, hear us, We beseech Thee, hear us. 4. May she guide the poor and blind, Seek the lost until she find And the brokenhearted bind: We beseech Thee, hear us, We beseech Thee, hear us. © 1997 Christopher Miner Music. from: http://hymnbook.igracemusic.com/hymns/jesus-with-thy-church-abide Getting Ready for Sunday Song. When you are preaching from John 21, you can't get any more relevant than this! See you on the Lord's Day! This Sunday we will be observing the ordinances of baptism and the Lord's Supper. The sermon will be on the mission of the church. So, there were a lot of directions I could have gone for my song choice. Indelible Grace's "Did Christ Over Sinners Weep?" echoes Christ's call to His people to be on mission. |
